Asia in our thoughts, UK members raised £2538.45
In June we put our focus on Asia, to help those in need.
We are very pleased to announce that members of OpinionWorld UK raised a total of £2538.45.
In total OpinionWorld members raised £11,342.46.
People in Asia suffered two devastating natural disasters in May.
2 May 2008, Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar and more than 134,000 people were killed or missing; hundreds of thousands homeless.
12 May 2008, a massive earthquake hit South-western China killing more than 67,000 and leaving 12 million people homeless.
Immediate help is needed from relief organisations:
Food and water
Shelter, tents to guard against the elements
Medicine and supplies to save lives and ward off disease
Assistance for families and orphaned children
Eventual reconstruction assistance
During the month of June, members of OpinionWorld can offer support to the relief efforts being made in Asia.
Together we can all help to rebuild the lives of those left behind.
Please note that the amounts raised have been calculated from Euro's on the 11 July 2008 and may change slightly with the currency conversion.
