Support The Prostate Cancer Charity and help us save lives
Did you know that in the UK…
• Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
• 35,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year.
• 1 man dies every hour from prostate cancer.
The Prostate Cancer Charity is the UK’s leading charity working with people affected by prostate cancer. Our work can be split into four main areas:
1. Research
We encourage, support and fund research into the causes, prevention and treatment of prostate cancer. Historically, prostate cancer research has been underfunded. We are working hard to raise money to redress this balance.
2. Support
For the thousands of men and their families affected by prostate cancer every year we provide a free nurse-led Helpline. This is the only service of its kind in the UK.
3. Information
Most men don’t know what or where their prostate is and don’t know the signs and symptoms of prostate cancer. We want to make all men self-aware to help improve early detection and save lives.
4. Special Projects
The Charity focuses on areas of society where the need is greatest. For example African-Caribbean men have a three times higher risk of getting prostate cancer, so raising awareness in black communities is an important project in its own right.
By supporting The Prostate Cancer Charity you will help us continue our fight against the most common cancer in men.
