WWF and our support

OpinionWorld has supported WWF for many years and we are extremely happy that we have been able to raise funds for the fantastic work that they do.

Thank you for supporting WWF

To all of you who have helped support WWF over the past few years: a big thank you! Globally OpinionWorld has collected for several different WWF projects since the beginning of 2003.

Together we have raised more than £200,000 with £24,378.46 being collected by you our British members, so THANK YOU. Exchange rate of 0.9086 EUR to GBP on 18 December 2009.

Changing the world with WWF

WWF has been a charity that we have been raising funds for since OpinionWorld UK began. One of the reasons WWF was chosen to be a part of our Charity Programme and as one of our global charity organisations was because it is synonymous with ‘helping the living planet’.

This is one of the areas that we have heard from you that you find very close to your heart and addresses current global issues.

WWF’s Mission

WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by:

Conserving the world’s biological diversity
Ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable
Promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption

The Earth’s natural assets - plants, animals, land, water and the atmosphere – sustain the planet’s ecosystems and people’s health and livelihoods. But we are using twenty-five percent more natural resources than the planet can sustain, and as a result species, habitats and local communities are under threat.

Urgent, concerted action worldwide is a must to conserve a healthy environment; it is a shared responsibility and the foundation of sustainable development.

WWF is uniquely placed as a global conservation organisation operating locally and internationally, to work with partners worldwide to develop, embrace and implement lasting solutions to the environmental challenges we face. Through its conservation programmes, WWF tackles the drivers of biodiversity loss and humanity’s ecological footprint, many of which are interlinked. In doing so, WWF will ensure that people and nature thrive in a stable environment for generations to come.

Every year the global funds raised are sent to WWF to fund this critical work.
